The S3 Hall effect sensor is triggered by a magnetic target. These two channel sensors will trigger one channel when facing the north pole of a magnet and trigger both channels when facing the south pole of the magnet. With this configuration, it is possible to provide both trigger and sync signals with one sensor when referenced to either the crankshaft (mult-point or semi-sequential injection) or the camshaft (full sequential injection).
